Diabetes:M Awarded “Best App for Healthy Living and Eating” for 2017 at Webit.Festival Europe

Sirma Medical Systems is proud to announce that its pilot product – the Diabetes:M application, was announced winner in the “Best app for healthy living and eating” category at the 2017 Webit Awards. The award was presented by Hila Cohen - Private Sector Partnerships Lead, Innovation Accelerator at the World Food Programme.

The glamorous gala ceremony took place in Sofia Tech Park as a part of the 2017 Webit.Festival – one of the leading Digital and Innovation events in Europe.  

Diabetes:M was selected as the winner by a diverse international jury of more than 20 technology and healthcare experts from all over the world. Among them were Prof. Shafi Ahmed and Dr Lisa Latts. Prof. Ahmed is one of the most famous surgeons in the world and the first one to perform a series of operations with virtual reality gear. Lisa Latts is a Deputy Chief of IBM Watson Health – one of the most developed AI projects in the world of healthcare.

This year, the festival gathered in Sofia Tech Park about 5000 attendees from more than 90 countries. Over 300 speakers shared their invaluable experience from leading global companies and will help businesses adapt to the trends, which are going to change people’s lives radically in the next few years.

Webit.Festival - the leading Digital and Innovation event for Europe (part of the Global Webit Series with annual locations in Sofia, Istanbul, Dubai, Singapore and New Delhi) is taking place on 25-26 April, 2017 with more than 5000+ attendees from 90+ countries, 300 speakers and over 100 selected European and global pitching Startups at Founders Games.

Diabetes:M was first published in Google Play in April, 2013. It was developed by diabetics to meet the needs of people who want to manage all aspects of their condition. Users can track, analyze, review and export data in great detail. Today Diabetes:M is an established tool with over 315 000 installations and more than 50 000 active users. The application is well known to medical professionals, with many diabetes specialists recommending it to their patients.
